Mitch is the utmost professional! I hired Mitch for a large tenant improvement project for my State Farm Insurance office in Kings Village. I receive compliments on a regular basis on what a beautiful space we have —I owe it all to Mitch. From the beginning of the design of the project to the very end he kept me informed every step of the way. The bid was very detailed–left nothing out–and came in on budget. I was amazed at how tidy and clean my space was every evening when the crew left. I had the pleasure of working with Mitch on the remodel of our new restaurant Suda, in the Pleasure Point neighborhood of Santa Cruz. The project came out great. I have worked with Mitch on several projects including commercial building improvements and residential improvements. The workmanship was outstanding down to every detail. Mitch recently completed a three tier stairway and deck at my home. I have since had several licensed contractors over to the home for parties and each one of them commented on how well the deck/stairs were built. The commercial projects came out beautiful and I receive positive comments regularly. Mitch provides a thorough and accurate assessment of the project, provides detailed proposals and completes his projects on time and on budget. Mitch installed new trimwork (casings, baseboards) on our recent remodel as well as installing interior doors and cabinets. It was an extensive job (entire house) with lots of detail work. He exceeded in every way making sure things were done correctly and beautifully. His work ethic and attention to detail are above and beyond the “typical” contractor. It has been my pleasure to work with Mitch Cartwright on four different projects.

1. Deck support and railing replacement in which the supports under the deck and a portion of railing were damaged by fungus. Mitch replaced the supports and blended in new trimming and railing that had to be replaced as part of the replacement.
2. Diagnosing, locating and fixing a leaking pipe that intermittently caused damage in the house. Mitch identified the source of the leak, fixed it, and coordinated the sheetrock and texturing.
3. Replaced single-pane with double-pane windows: Mitch contracted with several window providers to obtain the best prices and quality and then replaced the windows and re-trimmed them.
4. Localized termite work: Mitch carefully removed the trim, and after the treatment, did an excellent job of replacing it.

Mitch is very trustworthy, cost conscious, clear-thinking, careful, shows excellent attention to detail, and is an outstanding communicator. His contracts are extremely clear and easily understood.

As an engineer I ask lots of questions. Mitch clearly understands and explains his choice for a particular approach and methodology on a project.

I highly recommend Mitchell Cartwright Builders and I will certainly choose him for my next project. Based on my experience, I would gladly ask him to build a house for me.

I have known Mitch for almost 15 years now and honestly, anyone who hires him will not be sorry. Mitch is not only one of the most ethical and reliable contractors I know, but he is organized, clean, and efficient. Even though it seems hard to believe, he really does make remodeling as enjoyable and painless as possible. It is so difficult sometimes to even get an estimate from a contractor, however, with Mitch, he will be the first one to respond and the first one to follow up. To top it all off, his work is unbelievable. As you can see from his pictures, his work is high quality and absolutely beautiful. Great guy, amazing work, and very happy customer!!

Mitch’s vision, combined with his meticulous attention to detail, resulted in a backyard beyond our expectations. We had an idea of what we wanted but Mitch took it up a notch providing expert guidance, excellent craftsmanship and fine detail.

We couldn’t be happier with our deck and the increased family time we now spend in our backyard enjoying it.
